this weekend...
No house stuff done whatever so ever... and I'm not feel guilty.
I spent most of the weekend hanging out, eating, browsing and catching up with friends.
Saturday night, great night in at friends place stuffing ourselves silly with amazing Indian take out. They're off to Paris and Italy for 4 weeks on Monday - jealous.
Today I caught up with another friend and went for a late brekky at Tusk. I highly recommend the poached eggs, smoked salmon, wilted spinach on potato roesti stacks and hollandaise sauce... Ooooooh my gosh, delicious. We were waited on by Lucy, made famous the Satorialist.
We wandered around around Windsor, both on a mission to buy some vintage boots (yes, at the end of winter - go figure) but with no success. Went into Tarlo & Graham and I noticed my big glass bottle selling for $140 which I found op-shopping for $5!

I'll be spending the evening on the couch I think. I may consider going for a walk and work off that hollandaise sauce... But don't hold me to that.

balcony garden
After the kitchen is finished, I will give some much needed love to our very sad looking balcony.
Once upon a time, herbs use to florish our of the big terrcotta planter, and standing nearby it was my beloved maggie - my small magnolia tree who has now gone to heaven.
I love these old crates used as planter boxes..

pretty glass
image via Aimee Herring found via Shannon Fricke
I need to cull my collection of bottles and jars - too many dust collectors and nowhere to store them. This image from Aimee Herring is making me second guess. It's going to be hard for me to part with them...

lazy sunday

Didn't actually get lost this weekend..
But we did have a nice time at the Collingwood Childrens Farm today. We enjoyed the quaint surrounds by the river and tucked into a delicious organic breakfast. We bought home some danish pastries from the Convent Bakery.

oh ebay!
It wasn't meant to be... I don't think it's really me anyway. Or is it? Can't decide...
Perhaps it may have looked nice next to with my other little oily friends... Oh well, too late now!
Some other ebay bits here, here and here that I've contemplated, but have shown some restraint.
Maybe one day I can set up shop, that way I can get up to as much ebay mischief as I'd like to. Either that or get a bigger house.

office space: black + white + timber
I like the use of this old printing block drawer in this office.
My new mission is to buy a bulk lot of timber grey lead pencils and display it in a simple white ceramic cup on my desk. Just because..

little buds of spring
The warm sunshine over the weekend has inspired me to get out some of the my frocks out of the wardrobe, sans opaque tights.
Here's one of the dresses I bought in Phillip Island. I think the white flower buds are rather sweet, however, I will need to take the hemline up..

new sheets..
Feels like Spring is here..
There's something really nice about putting fresh sheets on the bed as the warm light filters through the blinds on a sunny day.
These are my new Ikea bed sheets. They remind me a little of Orla..

the lovely Ms Blasko
Marked in my calender is Sarah Blasko at the Forum on 2nd of October. I will be surprising my darling friend G for her birthday.
She's done a lovely cover of Xanadu. I am yet to work out how to upload videos - Argh, constant error messages!I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing her at the Queenscliff Music Festival a few years ago. I have been to the QMF almost every year since I was a rag bag teen. I recall that particular year had a pretty amazing line up; Emiliana Torrini, Ash Grunwald, Claire Bowditch...

wednesdays: awesome TV night
Food Safari - Tummy rumbling inspiration. Don't watch if you haven't had dinner yet.
Spicks & Specks - Musical quiz + comedians + awkward moments with the odd irrelevant guest = always a winner
The Librarians - Cringe, cringe, cringe - but bloody hilarious!
United States Of Tara - Brilliant! I heart Toni Collette & John Corbett aka Aiden is still a bit of alright.
At the Movies - A glimpse at the upcoming movies - Margaret's raspy laugh cracks me up

taking the plunge
image by Cig Murphy found via Pia Jane Bijkerk
It's been an overwhelming week on the career front. It's with a heavy heart that I have decided to move on. After 3 years, through the many hurdles and hoops I have learnt so much. I can look back fondly and remember the wonderful friends I have made and shared many laughs with.

wee sized chairs for little peeps
images above from the ever so cute Three Potato Four
I visited my friend Moni's house recently and gushed over the wee sized chairs that she had used as a child, which has now been past down to her boys. We were tossing up whether she should paint them red or white... Or at all? Perhaps I'll pester her for a pic to get a verdict..
Which reminds me I have to snap my little chairs from Phillip Island, which currently makes a great magazine stack holder.

cute stitching
So cute. This kinda reminds me of my grade 6 handwriting. So yes, I use to heart my i's.. I know, what a dork.
My mum opened a bank account for me when I was 11.
Years later I had to go into the bank to collect a new card. I had to sign for it but couldn't recall my signature, so the bank teller was trying to describe it 'Um, it's very curly' She gave up and just showed it to me to forge. I blushed, it was so incredibly cheesy.
