secrets from a stylist

via Oh joy

I reeeally would like to watch Secrets from a Stylist (web streaming is a dud for me). I'd particularly love to see the transformation of Joy's place. Emily seems really cool (from what I gather from reading her blog) and her work is pretty amazing. Hello revamped thirfty furniture.

home love

Do you recall this lovely home featured Real Living? The home of interior and furniture designer Tim Leveson. Do check out his website. Wow if I were to hire an interior designer, I'd do it off a testimonial like this alone :)

the weekend

Tonight, a quiet night in.
A friend has lent me the box set of Love My Way - 2 episodes in and I am completely in love with them all. We don't have Foxtel (cable tv) which is probably a good thing.
Some spring cleaning - council rubbish collection. Lets hope I don't go wondering and bring road side rubbish home. I spotted a pallet on my way home yesterday... Hmmm, so very tempting.

sails away

I came across this vintage oil painting in a inner city op-shop. It had a $90 price tag on it - Was it worth it? I am yet to decide.. So I kept walking and left it behind. Should I go back?

This was the most expensive op shop I have been to, given it's location, they knew the market rates; art deco drink trolleys for $300, vintage Bentwoods $80. Better that it goes to charity then dealers to on sell I suppose.

I took this photo with my crappy 3 year old nokia phone - I am perhaps the only person I know without an iphone.. it didn't turn out so bad.

new dust collectors

I kept telling myself no more, but I couldn't resist. The op-shop was having a half price bric-a-brac sale, and this ceramic vase has such lovely texture. The oil landscape is only 9cm x 20cm and is a cute addition to my growing collection.

Speaking of dust, I spent the whole of today vacuuming, mopping and got lots of housework done. A pretty darn good effort given the big Saturday night that was had.

the weekend

doiley cuteness via mossy bones

Saturday more flat stuff done..
Painted over the grey feature wall in the living room back to crisp fresh white. In an ideal world I would love to wall paper it but I'm way too indecisive..

I did a spot of op shopping; found a retro stripey dress and cute cross stitch table cloth. I was on a mission to find some more oil paintings or some thing to hang on my freshly painted walls. No such luck.

Today we went to a friends place for bbq, basked in the warm afternoon sun, and started mapping out festivities for the summer.

Collecting: Vintage paintings

Catherine of Little Glowing Lights reminded me of my abandoned project of collecting vintage oil paintings. Well, maybe not abandoned, but put on hold until all my walls have been painted. Here's the two I found at various op shops..

Still not too sure about this one but I think it may suit my eventual white subway tiled kitchen.
Perhaps sitting above a nesting of white ceramics and nearby some old french bread boards?

Not sure where this one will go.. Perhaps in the hall when I find some more friends for it to reside with.
