I do like the subtle feminine touch of a dainty shade and floral art work in this industrial corner of Jordan Calson's Williamsburg apartment.

the millswyn

The rather posh and newly refurbed South Yarra restaurant, the Millswyn. Ticking so many boxes on my interiors lust list; beech timbers, grey walls, kelim cushions in the private function room and bar and in the restaurant nordic white meets hampton's interior. Wouldn't it be nice lunching and gazing over these tree top views?

interior love

How completely divine is this home?! A beautiful marriage of blonde timber furniture pieces amongst dark character features. Bright pops of colour dappled amongst vintage industrial and real home comfortable pieces. Pour over many more beautiful details here on Shoot Factory.

interior love

I love the natural earthy tones and geometric patterns in this home featured in real living last month. I spied with my prying eyes a lovely kelim ottoman in a shop in Mornington last weekend..

cute time out corner

Friday I put my hands up to babysit JD's nephews (2 yrs & 9 months), whilst their parents enjoy an evening with Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens). Time out corners weren't required but I was worded up that I was in for a challenging night. It went pretty smoothly, other than bed time being postponed a couple of hours..

Saturday in contrast, we went out for a friends birthday drinks which followed with world cup madness.
Today, I met up with some friends for a lazy Sunday lunch at the Aviary. A couple glasses of wine followed with the lemon myrtle tart I easily could have nestled into a peaceful siesta on their chirpy yellow seats.
I thought to pop into Ikea on the way home, but came to my senses and remembered that it should be avoided at all costs on Sundays. Instead I spend the rest of the night on the couch with the boy (and Gary, George & Matt).

hello weekend, goodbye lamp..

In a bid rid our place of the zillion lamps I have lying around, I've decided to give this ornate black one away. It's going to a good home, recently engaged friends with little bubba on the way.. Not a very romantic gift but very suited to their style and practical. Another Camberwell Market purchase.

factory enamel lights

I've been eying off these grey industrial factory lights on ebay, although let it slip through my fingers because realistically I don't have the right space for it. I already have a green one which I may use in our study. I discovered more vintage lighting on Skinflint Design UK.

New but old lights

I am rather miffed about the lack of attractive and affordable lighting retailers in Melbourne. I have been on the look out for new pendant and wall lights/scones, but the only options we seem to have are Ikea, Beacon Lighting and Freedom. The wall lights options are especially tragic. I have now resorted to ebay and second hand finds.
This weekend I finally had our lounge room pendant hung which was an ebay score for $40 - the old couple said they bought it in the early 80's and had it in stored in their shed ever since.
The before fitting was a shabby chic (more shabby, than chic) candelabra, complete with faux plastic candle wax dripping on light bulb fitting. The wall lights are the same design, so I need to find something that suits the one above quick smart.
