hello twenty-twelve!

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Hope the holiday break has been blissfully relaxing as it's been for me (perhaps a little too much).

So many bits of have followed me home over the year but to be honest I have been too lazy to photograph - That, I will work better on this year..

First up the bedroom. I'm still in love the chevron print, the bed linen is from Aura. My lovely self sacrificing friend found this mid century bedside at an op shop and messaged me a pic ( yes, I have spotters all over Melbourne) only $40! Amazing how many magazines it can hold and yet never enough..

Enjoy the weekend, this is my last one before heading back to work on Monday.

We are heading to our friends annual dress up bbq. This years theme is heroes and villains and in usual form JD and I are left scrambling around at the last minute out fits. I aiming for Yoko Ono..

There's something really nice about putting fresh sheets on the bed as the warm light filters through the blinds on a sunny day.

Stuck at a suburban shopping centre today I thought I'd kill some time time at Dimmey's, minutes later I walked out with an entire new set of bed linen.

JD & I got well acquainted with the various suburban shopping centres, random discount stores and asian grocers whilst gathering supplies for our engagement party. I think we may have bought all the packets of polaroid film left in Melbourne.

Our bedroom

I tidied up for you...

During the week it gets quite messy, clothes thrown in frustration each morning, my magazines left lying around...

Our side tables are old milking stools. JD's stool is where the ugly tech stuff is kept eg. alarm clock, mobile phones etc.

This room goes through re-incarnations every time I change quilt covers. I bought this quilt cover from ebay for only $40!! It's a light musky pink colour & has a lovely subtle white floral paisley/floral print. I love it!. See it up close & buy here - The seller has more!

I'm watching some brushed stainless steel ones on ebay at the moment but not sure if they'll have the same effect.

We're getting new white wooden venetian blinds this week! After 7 years, we can get rid of the crappy, dirty beige & bent, clunky aluminium blinds!! Yay!

Realistically our bedroom is more option 2 - minus artfully placed vintage hard backs and replace with magazines strewn everywhere.. Funny enough, I do have one of those Ikea stainless steel Forsa work lamps on my side of the bed already..
